Survival of the fittest

Survival_of_the_fittest
one of the greatest things I like about myself is the fact that I chose a Hindu jacket this life around... we have so many fables and stories that I can't wait to tell you about this one... (I shall one day compile these works for future generations to learn from... I believe the imagination to be the greatest blackboard – infact the greatest colour-board out there; and these fables make use of it wholly, they were designed and written by great Gurus long time ago, and mostly had animal figures in them, something like the Disney pictures...) they form an unbiased opinion about something simply because of their fictitious characters yet the truth is homed so beautifully to the reader... so without further adieu:-

There was once a small boy, an elderly father, and a donkey;

They were poor and were making their way from one village to the next;

The little boy got on the donkey while his father walked alongside,

on the way, they were ridiculed by bystanders; they said look;

the old man is walking, and the boy is riding on the donkey...

so the boy got off the donkey and told his father to climb up on the donkey;

when they reached another village, the villagers there, said look;

the old man is making the child walk while he rides comfortably on the donkey...

so the old man got off the donkey too and they both started walking side by side the donkey,

when they reached another village, the villagers there said look;

they have a donkey, but they are walking by themselves; what a waste...

so this time both the old man and the child climbed on the donkey;

when they reached another village, the villagers there said look at that;

they are abusing the donkey by both of them sitting on it together...

the father and son got so pissed, that they decided the best thing was to – get this – 'carry the donkey!'

so they paired and tired the legs of the donkey and carried the donkey on their shoulders

when they reached another village, the villagers laughed and said look at that,

they are so stupid to carry a donkey on their shoulders instead of riding on it...

:-)

IF you have stopped laughing too...please continue reading... for the ending is sad....

they reached a river and when they entered to cross it... the donkey got underwater and started to struggle and amidst the struggle it was washed away down the river...and drowned; they lost their one and only asset...

The moral of the story :

the world will never see you as right, the only thing is to keep your cool, other wise you will loose your donkey... I mean; your most precious commodity – your peace. :-)

First create your spiritual status by obeying the word of God – and then based on that, create your goal,- If you will harm less, and help more, while you pursue your goal, then you have chosen the right goal; (Gandhi said the best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others) - stick to it (Gandhi said that happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.) – and don't change your vision – if it's pure enough you will be ridiculed by the masses, but don't let that down you – just KIT (Keep It Together) otherwise you will be taken for a ride by the clowns in the circus of life...

Notice that the unattainable your goal; the more the tests you will be put through, the more the pain you will experience, the more the payback will be.

It's all about how much heat you can take... the question is where is your breaking point ?

All of us have that ... a breaking point... and it's exactly the people who have dared, those who have survived the winter chill and the summer sun; it's thier DNA that runs through us.... our ancestors went through a test that lasted millions of years for them to give you what you have... a body, synchronised with a mind that fires enough neurons to light up a 'light bulb', and a mental capacity to house God... baby this is deep, don't you think so ?

To all those who have experienced pain... congratulations... you are recruited to carry forward the light.

And remember “Glory lies in the attempt to reach one's goal and not in reaching it.” Mohandas (Mahatma) Gandhi.

Now dance... for you have found the truth....

OHHHH!!! I HONESTLY, HONESTLY LOVE YOU JANAK!

Yes you EARNED this one, sweetie. You are my TRUE brother, tho we haven't met face to face in this life yet. You are such an inspiration!

I'm going to state publicly - you asked for it! - that I consider you a true hu-man… 'hu' for humble, for humane, for humming [as in beautiful spiritual energy projected], and I am certain you can give and take a hug… I'm going to see what other 'hu's I can think of and insert them later if I can hahaha  I simply love a man with an open heart. God bless you and your wisdom.

Much blessings to you. Sherri

Sweet.  Hey J.  Wow….you sure do bring interesting, unique blogs to the world….I am impressed each time…..and before I forgot, happy brothers day….I didn't forget….just wasn't sure which day you guys are celebrating it in your part of the world…..

Love the story…love the message you extracted out of it…….

It's a favorite story from my childhood and one that still preoccupies my mind on days long……..I remember the moral as being, “when you try to please everyone, you will lose your ass/donkey…”  ha ha………and it occurs to me that the father and son made a genuine sacrifice to make  each village happy….and what's wrong with that?

See?  Your lovely, positive message is making me think positive too…..

By trying to please everyone, they survived….survival of the fittest…….(I mean some villagers are full of madness ….lol…I see them chasing  the trio out of town with thier hoes and sticks and shovels if they dare to turn up their noses at foolish advice………..so in the end they ended up losing their ass, but what is a donkey really?  A car, the ego, pride????
lol………..however, I agree, we gotta put common sense before crowd pleasing….

Gee….you always make my lazy brain think….love ya for that….

Beautiful blog my friend! This is a story from my childhood, actually came in a form of a song in Russian. Very sweet.
Reminds me of this quote by Bill Cosby of all people:

“I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody.”

:-)

Let's dance !!!

I remember this story from my childhood and my memory of the moral is exactly what Amy wrote… and I'm inclined to agree with (or at least to ponder with a sparkle in my eye) what she has written about the father and son making genuine sacrifices for each village they visited… yes, if you try to please everyone you meet you might lose your ass(et), but if you brought satisfaction or comfort or happiness to those people along the way, perhaps you can consider that a life well lived… why not? we're constantly justifying and defending our actions, aren't we?

Thanks for the story and for the dancing and for giving me another light by which to see. :-)

The beautiful thing is, if the donkey is supposed to be your peace, it's great to know you can always go back for it and it is very much alive :)

I think we should please ourselves; that seems to bring lots of pleasure to others also.

That's my story and I am sticking to it lol

Have a great Sunday lovies! Sherri

Amy:
Yes we have to put some sense before we just do it to 'please the crowd…. ' as for this sense, i see no better reference than the scriptures…. i'm assuming :-) that most of you are Christians… so for example… the Bible is a living book, it changes meaning with time, yet the essence of Gods supremacy never diminishes…. so basically it will survive till the end of all life… imagine if we just follow some of the verses universally… how good everything would turn out to be… we have to say 'no' to some people and some things and live how God told us to live.

Sherri:
Yes i think the donkey is alive… we just have to go back for it… :-) Of course i understand why Amy feels why we have to play along as we are played… i just read this recently… very inspiring… Hey you got energy still to Dance ? Well get your dancing shoes on….

You can join in too Sharon, MamaSue, and Alex…
BTW… there is a command i learned of to clear video “&fmt=18” by typing it at the end of every youtube video link… it makes them clear and the sound quality sharp… try it… note: most videos are poor quality… but some are good and this command brings that out… you can even view the above link in full screen… click the small square next to the sound level…

Hey Nalini and Monisha, this leaves me in an awkward position… i thought that this fable had an Indian origin… ow what the heck… i will create a “multi faith book of fables”… how does that sound… origin of the fable, its original wordings and a translation with a picture to summarize it… sounds like the perfact project for my free time… thanks ..:-)

Ariela:
I'm a good DJ too… right ?

We've got to keep this world together,…!
got to keep it moving straight…!
Love like we mean forever, ….. so that people can relate…..!
If you're rolling to your left, don't forget I'm on the right…. !
Trust and forgive each other….
A little love and we just might….
Yeah, yeah….!

I checked Martha's blog out J; I told her this morning that she is supremely wise. Ok, not in those exact words but I did tell her that she knows more and has more to contribute to the world right now than just about every world leader in their particular Boys Club. We are ALL the same, don't doubt it.

Least Effort is indeed one of my favourite 'new' laws… it is why Smiling is part of my new approved arsenal :D hmmm

And by the way, I listened to that radio station of yours much of last night. I felt like I was in the UK again; it's funny how that works.

Anyway, back to my steadfast donkey now ;) Love you muchly. Sherri

  Thanks, J.  It was truly a beautiful, smooth flowing read, the way you summarized your comment in your usual compassionate voice…………

Nishtha, Ariela and all of the other participants, wow….  We're definitely a ‘thinking' bunch….all of us are able to view this ‘tale' from different angles…………and able to add more light to it……………And I am enjoying it all….makes me see light and shadow too……………. and how can I deny the shadow when it's exactly that which brings out the full dimension of the picture?

Thanks for that lovely cosby quote, Nalini……………….I truly agree with it………..and the fact that Bill is a success speaks volumes……………….but I also see this other side upon contemplating the public life of Bill and that of other hollywood rising and falling stars…………..That they are the biggest crowd pleasers on this globe……… one of the keys to success perhaps…….

 So yay, Martha….I am all for…”Do unto others as you will have them do onto you.”  such wise words….psst…I'll try not to forget this as soon as I leave this blog….

Thanks guys and gals for keeping us all communicating and learning from each other…

Deep bow to all of you.

PS: Thanks Sherri….”We are all the same”   You just inspired me to listen to this song….”We are one”    and I think I might just send it to our Nic to cheer her up….on my way over here, I saw her looking a little bit sad….

Thank you Mickey…

you are still young to know the ill's that the world has in store for you..
but let me tell you of a little secret…

like a car with shock absorbers… the ride is smooth even on a bad road…
similarly.. the word of God.. is like shock absorbers for our life.. and His words keep us calm… and on the right path of self discovery…

yet you have to be bold to choose this road..
dare yourself to take the road that others will resist…
the truth of the matter is… the road towards God is also not taken naturally…
our senses guide us to the world and the worldly pleasures…
yet in the end…
we will only be happy when we go within.. and find that light; that glimmer that illuminates our being… and STICK with that…

;-)
much love and guidance to your new beginnings
