First of all.... a prayer to the people who did the blasts in Ahemdabad... our cursing them will only keep them looped in their vicious cycle... we have to see them through their ignorance by saying, stop violence and lets cultivate oneness...
OK...
Wow..... the experiences of being in a place like India is amazing all the time.... there is this funny feeling that overwhelms you verytime...
These are my experiences...: (all pictures are expandable when clicked)
As the aircraft was leaving, it was nudged by this funny car with many broad wheels.... i call it the 'tug car...' they are the ones that help an airplane park as well as position the craft for propulsion; interesting, we all need that in our life.... a tug being... :-)
This is wonderful.... i always love the take off part... What a rush !!!... 10, 50, 100, 150, 300, 1000 Kilometers per hour.... yah baby !
The captain of the flight made a mistake... LOL... he said "cabin crew are requested to take their seats 'for landing'... man he must be beat....
I almost gulped from sadness as i realised that i was parting from her...
I'm in the first-class lounge, i didn't realise we had first class tickets till then... i asked 'Grandpa why did we buy first class when the economy would have done...' He answered "The economy class was full"...
What if in life we always do that... stick to simplicity... only when God asks off us to work for him... we adopt things like money and resources; what if we just stick to economy class till then?
OK we had a sort off emergency... Grandpa took alittle longer in the wash room and the seat belt signs are on....the air hostess calls on me to get him out now !.... i call out his name... but he doesn't respond... i open the door and he just managed to buckle his trousers... the plane is shaking horribly... i take his hand around my neck and start towards the seats... some passengers see this and help out by getting out of their seats and giving one to him... a word of warning... 'Never walk on the craft when the seat belt sign is on - you will fall - twice :-"
We are roaming.... roaming....

DAMN... someone just bumped our taxi from behind... ohh owww...
The driver looks mad...
He is stopping the car...
the guy behind is trying to escape...
Our driver dodges his car to pin his escape...
Mind you, we are in mid traffic, 4 lane road.... and he steps out and nearly slaps the other driver... He is telling him to put the car on the side....
He is trying to escape again....
He is pinned again.... this time, our taxi driver 'dives' into the passenger side... and takes something ,... its his mobile phone..
"Now he will automatically come to the side". He said smilingly...
"You f*** can't you see where your going ! ?
"If you're in such a hurry... why don't you tell the f***ing mare to build you your own f***ing road ? !"
Of-course i'm being as good at translating as i can :-) he needed to hear that... he was guilty of reckless driving and tried to escape...
Our driver calmed and manged to settle the issue for 1000 Rs. he took his mobile phone though... since he didn't have the money on him... but they exchanged numbers and promised to return the mobile after he got the money...
This got me thinking....
Imagine if earth were that mean... curse us at our deeds and keep something dear of ours until we repaid our debt to her... we must consider our inconsistency towards her might.. for she has many brothers and they can slap us anytime...

I hope he means crush poverty....

I'm sitting in my room... it has A/C but i prefer to sweat alittle and keep the window open, for i can hear the crows crowing and the pigeons ummm, what's that sound they make? i don't know... but sounds amazing...
The traffic has its own humming and don't get me started on the airoplane take-off...
Gosh 6 take offs per hour, where are they all going, anyway...?
This small kid came in to clean our room... The first thing that came to mind was "child labour' red sirens 'we-o we-o'... oh hush already; conciousness.... he could be out there in the street begging and eating bad food at best... here at the Samaj, at least he gets his meals and a bed to sleep in... and sorta earns good karma, for he serves the wise... OK fine i'm not one of the wise... but many wise people come to the Samaj...

We are now leaving for Bhuj Kutchh... Preety people in the flight... i Wonder if they are really happy as they project to be...I'm sitting in my room... it has A/C but i prefer to sweat alittle and keep the window open, for i can hear the crows crowing and the pigeons ummm, what's that sound they make? i don't know... but sounds amazing...

Mumbai - New Swaminarayan Samaj - Life on the fast lane...
Simplicity can be summerised as laziness... i like it here, because people are lazy... waiting for stuff to happen, which never does... and that in turn makes it hard for 'go getters' to survive here... I have learned that people here don't care about money... even a rickshaw guy denied a tip... "I only take my rightful earning". Money has value... but only if it is circulated in good...
Although not all are like this, and i warn the new visitors to take care... India is a place you will be robbed... robbed of your cash, your ego, and your luggage... and be left a clay dough perfact for God's hands to work on :-)
Recently i heard a painting being sold for 14 million pounds... what the ....? I mean that painting must have Not more then 50 colours, yet so much ignorance in the collector.
Money should be spent on promoting welfare : Physically, Mentally and Spiritually amongst mankind.

Janak, you are such a generous soul. Please keep us inspired with your, yes, wisdom!
Lots to love in your blog, but, as usual, I was struck by the points on simplicity which I am learning to love so much now. “Money has value… but only if it is circulated in good…” Wise words, wise, wise words love.
Stay pure!
With love, sherri
Oh, looking at your pictures has made me long to visit my home country…. Alas, it is not to be for some time, so I will just visit your pictures often and live vicariously…. Thank you, brother, for sharing your trip with me/us!

What an awesome passage to India, J… I enjoyed every minute of it……the adventures laced with humor, insight, wisdom and compassion……..
Yep, sacred cows were everywhere………and mmm the mangoes were delicious…. love your little barefoot hero too…
.Aww…the breath of india….spicy and sweet, simple and pure…..
Well, I'm kinda glad you didn't sneak me into your suitcase…this is better, a virtual trip with you….
It was breathtaking and educational…viewing it through your wise eyes is divinely enlightening….
Love ya, little bro
Amy :-)
Oh so much love in so little time….
What fun! It is so nice to see more reality scrolling down seeing the sights & land. The cows have it made in this culture. I was touring Indians in Hollywood recently. What I loved about working with those I was assigned to was when it came to giving citizenship or green cards, the guy that I was working with bought a law firm here when he was having a tough time with just one lawyer. Then he could help the people to work here much more efficiently.
made me, well, India-sick. That sounds weird, but I meant 'home sick' only I can't say that since India isn't my home.
Actually I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with the country – the first time I went ( in my 20's) I swore I'd never return.. but I did… and did again, and hope that there will be another visit. It almost feels like a prerequisite to living in the 'west'.
thanks for the 'prompt' ;-)
Love,
Sandra
p.s. I *so* want a Tamboura… sigh…
Welcome Back Brother~
Thank You so much for your fine tour guiding :-D
I really enjoyed seeing the farm…and well…everything through your eyes…for the giggles, oh so delightful!
Just a small addition about Cows …
yes…. they seem to be everywhere in India….
Hey I'm reminded of a fable…
remember when you were like umm… Zero years old… just born and crying all the time… and you were feed that first nourishment, it would make you silent and make you grow… ?
Mothers milk was all that you craved for… and indeed it's good that you did… for one month, two months, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years…. why I've heard of mothers breastfeeding a 4 year old child…
Now think of a mother that does this same task for the remaining 96 years of your life… your morning tea, your bread topping, your lunch delicacies, your dinner deserts … they are all made in some way, or form, from milk… (dairy)
I myself don't like butter or ghee, why I don't drink milk either… well just a small amount of yogurt everyday… (it keeps the digestive system in check plus i'm from Gujarat.. a must have for us) But do you see where I'm going with this… it could be argued, who is the bigger mother… well I doubt the cows will ever get to talk for themselves in the debate but I feel that at least we can recognise their importance…
Please resist beef today… :-)
Cow protection talk by Prabhupada
Cow protection in 'About Hinduism'
Oh and i don't drink milk because i read somewhere that Gandhi said “a cow produces milk for its calf; we just steal it from between” (a cow and its calf).
LOL.
I happen to be 'lactose intolerant'….and I think this probably stems from my personal beliefs about milk…which is….
Milk is for babies. Cow milk is for cow babies.
The milk you drink is probably not just a little bit 'borrowed' from a cow.
That cow mother had it's baby taken away so You could drink it instead.
Drink up. (bleahhhhhh….puuuuuke)
Wow bow down to you my dear Ariela… yes you remind me of a great soul i know Ocean
She is so passionate about every detail of saving the animals and i agree… even in India… if the calf is a male… then it gets sent to the slaughter house coz it's a liability to upbring it….
Fortunately the pic i took of the calf will not go through this kind of inhumanity coz we explained the rising cost of fuels to the farmers and told them that the days are not far when we will be using bull carts and bull shit to drive our economy… that sounds so funny,… but it's true…. take a look
The “Sarva Mangal Trust” (the photos of the brown cows) is such a trust that we are currently donating to… they create organic fertiliser from the cows and the bull's umm waste and are introducing this strong breed that can carry out economic activities like ploughing the land. Milk will just be the byproduct of the whole project…
Not to mention, women will get jobs milking the cows and our first opportunity will be for widows and abandoned wives… to make them self-sufficient and economically stable.
I even created their Logo… i'll scan it and upload it soon…
In the mean time, i shall stay away from chocalate… and just stick to dark soya chocalate instead… opening the eyes also means shutting some evil doors that we are used to right … ?
I soooo enjoyed your picturces! Thank You :)
Thank you so much for sharing this! The pictures are wonderful, and I enjoyed reading your story and impressions as well. The simple living without the extreme materialism sounds refreshing. Thanks again, Kathy
