Dreams and Teams
patients...
She teaches teachers to become tutors and ways of making young people into young leaders.... she does this by empowering the young leaders to plan, execute and remedy - any problems in the way to - accomplish an event.
She believes in her work as a necessity to make sure the tomorrow is a better tomorrow, with less cultural, religious, and social barriers... I think she might be saving the world from World War 3.... :-)
I don't know if the British Council would like their ideas to be so crudely summerised, but my name is crudebliss... so.... bite me: besides; I'm King... +[:-)
Day 1 (Sunday 15-6-2008 - Father's Day)
I return from the temple and pop in my Hotel to see if everything is running fine: climbing stairs... loud sounds... loud sounds... even louder laughters... from the conference room...
Hello!!! (and I mean the 3 exclamations are a min.:-)

discussed the way we do things in Kenya

understood the rights of children and discussed their implementation or not; and why not.
An initiative by the UN Convention
{ICE Breaker}
we were told to roam around in the conference room... roaming, roaming.....
“STOP !!! ”
“I want 4 elbows together !!! ”she said.
that is the actual time I forgot I had hands... ahhh one hand... .oohh look I have two.... now to look for someone with two too...
some more breaking.... roam around, roam around,
“i want 4 knees together !!!”
this lady comes out with her knee... (you can see her in the background of the picture above)and I think I might have killed at least a million cells when I “came in” with mine.

back to serious
I learnt that diversity is good; yet respect is paramount of the various cultures and beliefs.
I learnt that everyone is a teacher; hence everyone is a learner.
A lot of use of the word 'thankyou'
Day 2 (Monday 16-6-2008)
I learnt the art of teaching by using tools like empowerment, trust, teamwork: Planning, time control, support, safety....
The excersises, I believe; we did that day were the homing factors; in the principle of learning something new, "make it fun...." Kinda like the way Indain culture use stories and fables to tell/educate children of principles and moral, in a fun way.....
Day 3 (Tue 17-6-2008)
more exercises....
more exercises....
(was in and out for a couple of sessions ... to catch up on work...)
aahhhh the blessing to own a hotel and to have your offices in the same building ;-)

Day 4 (Wed 18-6-2008)
Rest Day....!
We went to the Fort Jesus (an ancient ruin at the coast)
visited our temple:
A small experiance i'd like to share....
there were flowers placed on a piece of cloth on the floor of the temple...
she was commenting on the pleasant aroma... i picked up one and gave it to her; but to my own ignorance, the ladies in the temple disallowed the flower to be returned...
Of course i was kinda displeased with that; but then my mother told me of an expression that once we smell a flower, we cannot offer it to God....
Kinda like drinking milk from the carton, you cannot - should not return it to the fridge...
sorry for that misunderstanding Karen...
flower, in temple; smell, wow; return? big no no... take it with you :-)
visited the light house
fun fun day

Day 8 (Sun 22-6-2008)
oh wow, what a colourful little note

Hey J, I so thoroughly enjoyed reading this. Love the way you intertwined humor…made me smile to the very end…and hey….I learned a lot too….it was almost like being there with you.
And that bit about once you sniff the flower you should keep it…. reminds me of the story of Ram and when he visited one of his devotee, an elderly woman. And out of love, she tasted all the berries, feeding only the sweetest ones to her Lord. Of course, brother Laxman thought it was “eww” but Ram, sweet, gentle lord, understood and ate all the juta-half-eaten-berries lovingly.
Hugs and kisses
Amy :-)
